Toyota Auris Hybrid Augmented Reality, a interactive project made together with Saatchi & Saatchi, Dusseldorf. A site where you can build a cartrack and have your Auris Hybrid drive around in Augmented Reality. There are 20 different AR objects that you can use to build your track. Depending of which objects you use and in what order you place them they will show off different key features of the car. The car interact with the objects while passing by and the objects also interact with each other.
North Kingdom were responsible for the AR module on the site. (The part shown in the screenshots and screencapture) I Art Directed and designed the interface of the module and Art Directed the Augmented Reality part / 3D. (3D by Zoink) The rest of the site was Art Directed and designed by Saatchi & Saatchi.
The challenge was to make the AR objects look realistic and match the brand values even thought we needed to keep down the amount of polygons, to be able to use as many objects as possible at the stage simultaneously and still keep the flow of the animation.
The site became FWA site of the day (www.thefwa.com) at 28th of June 2010 and was also one of 10 sites nominated as .net awards site of the year 2011.
